Families caring for aging loved ones in the Nordonia Hills area will soon have a new option close to home. Living a Dream Adult Day for Seniors is opening at 9503 Brandywine in Northfield. A grand opening celebration is set for Thursday, Nov. 5, from 2 to 6 p.m.
Built on Two Years of Experience in Twinsburg
Owner Tashua Fortson already runs a successful program in a neighboring community.
“For the past two years, we have successfully operated a day program in Twinsburg for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities,” Fortson said.
Fortson said she recognized a need in the local community for specialized senior care. Her new Northfield location is designed specifically for older adults. It is aimed at seniors living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Seniors who simply need a safe place to spend the day are also welcome.
What the Program Offers
Living a Dream provides non-medical adult day services. Its focus is on caring support, new friendships and meaningful days for the seniors it serves.
According to the program’s materials, the goal is a welcoming place where seniors can connect, laugh and feel valued. Staff members provide warmth and companionship throughout the day. That support also gives family caregivers time to take care of their own daily responsibilities.
“A brighter day for your loved one. Peace of mind for you,” reads the program’s mailer.
The program’s logo carries the tagline “Together We Belong.”
