Also at the meeting the Budget and Fire Station resolutions passed.
The code amendment ordinance will be on second reading next meeting.

Variances Approved:
(1) Elimination of parking lot landscaping island and parking lot interior landscaping
(2) Location of enclosed waste facility
(3) One tree along Rt. 8 rather than 2 trees with additional required tree to be placed on west side of the property; and (4) Approval of landscaping plan plant quantities and layout shown in project plans in lieu of Quantity of Plant Material Chart and requirements in Section 1267.05(b)5.C(3) of the Overlay Area Ordinance.

– A detailed copy of any fire department activity is available upon request.
– NVFD ended 2019 with 844 Incidents (81% EMS 19% Fire, 4% Increase over 2018)
– Call Statistics – As January 22nd, 2020 responded to a total of 47 incidents in 2020 (-21% under last year at this time). Of NVFD’s total responses, 41 (87%) of those incidents were EMS related and 6 (13%) incidents were FIRE related.
– Mutual Aid Report – In 2020, NVFD provided mutual aid for 3 incidents, provided automatic aid 1 times, and received mutual aid for 0 incidents and automatic aid for 0 Incidents. (Total MA received in 2013 was 13, 2014 was 15, 2015 was 22, 2016 was 28, 2017 was 26, 2018 was 29, 2019 was 26)
– NVFD’s Average Response Time from time of call till time on scene is 3:29
– MGM & NVRC Stats – NVFD responded to 13 medical / 0 fire incidents at MGM/NPRT and 2 medical / 0 fire incidents at NVRC in 2020

Department News / Upcoming Events
Fire Station Remodel – Tonight we heard from BBS as to the status of the building plans and the hope to release construction documents for bid. Also, detailed drawings, and interior furnishings are available for review. We are still on schedule relating back to the original timeline. Estimated completion will hopefully be around April 2021.
