Early Lead For GlenOak Varsity Eagles Seals Fate For Nordonia Knights losing 14 – 4

Nordonia Knights fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 14-4 loss to GlenOak Varsity Eagles on Thursday. GlenOak Varsity Eagles scored on a single by Luke Senften, a single by Jackson Boles, and an error in the first inning.

The Nordonia Knights struggled to contain the high-powered offense of GlenOak Varsity Eagles, giving up 14 runs.

After Nordonia Knights scored three runs in the top of the fifth, GlenOak Varsity Eagles answered with three of their own. Nordonia Knights scored when Michael Ebert singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run, Jacob Shirk singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, and Vinny Hack singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. GlenOak Varsity Eagles then answered when Alex Laird singled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs and Tommy ElFaye singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.

GlenOak Varsity Eagles scored four runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught by GlenOak Varsity Eagles was led by Laird, ElFaye, and Carmen Papaleo, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Ben Sibert earned the win for GlenOak Varsity Eagles. The ace allowed seven hits and four runs over six innings, striking out two and walking zero.

Dash Lanzilotta took the loss for Nordonia Knights. The pitcher lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and seven runs while striking out four.

Ebert went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Nordonia Knights in hits.

GlenOak Varsity Eagles tallied 12 hits. Senften, ElFaye, and Laird all managed multiple hits for GlenOak Varsity Eagles.
