On Tuesday, September 26th, the Nordonia Knights played host to the North Royalton Bears volleyball team in the Nordonia High School Large Gym located in Macedonia, Ohio.
The standout performers for the Knights were sophomore Riley Kinnell, who notched an impressive 14 kills, freshman Ady Lefeld with 10 kills, and sophomore Madison DuPont, who contributed 12. Junior Riley Barwidi led the team in serving points with 15.
The match unfolded as an intense battle, taking place last night, with Nordonia (4-10) squaring off against North Royalton (13-3) in an epic five-game showdown. Ultimately, North Royalton emerged victorious with a 3-2 scoreline.
Here’s the breakdown of the five sets: The first set saw the Bears trailing, with the Nordonia Knights leading 25-22. North Royalton quickly bounced back, securing a 25-18 lead in the second set.
The Bears maintained their momentum in the third set, winning convincingly with a score of 25-11. The Nordonia Knights fought back and claimed the fourth set with a 25-22 score. However, the Bears sealed the victory with a 15-11 win in the fifth set.
Recognizing her exceptional performance, Brooke Kostyack of the Bears was awarded Player of the Match, boasting an impressive stat line of 28 kills, 4 aces, and 11 digs.
