Jenn Domzalski thanks Mayor Jesse Nehez

I have the following comments in the aftermath of Mayor Nehez’s announcement this evening that he will be resigning as Mayor at the end of this year to accept a job out of State.

I would like to thank Mayor Nehez for his 17 years of service to the Village as a Councilperson and Mayor. During my time on Council, I have learned first-hand how deeply Mayor Nehez cares for the Village, its residents and employees. He has always acted selflessly on the job, worn his heart on his sleeve, and kept the best interests of the Village in mind at all times. The Village is in a better place from the time he entered the Mayor’s office. While I am disappointed to see him leave, I am excited for him as he embarks on his new adventure. I appreciate his offer to work closely with me during the remainder of this year to help get me ready to assume the duties of Mayor upon his departure. I am humbled by the opportunity and responsibility for continuing Mayor Nehez’s proud legacy of keeping the Village a great place to live, work, and visit.
