Lady Knights JV soccer showed Canton- Glen Oak how to play soccer on their home turf, while leaving nothing golden for Glen Oak. Saturday during a windy, chilly evening for spectators, but perfect soccer weather for the ladies, the Lady Knights were in their element. They kept the ball in their possession with great passing the majority of the game, leaving little wiggle room for any resistance to their skills.
Junior Sarah Hinterlong has found her footing this season, with two game goals scored in the first half, one of which was only six minutes into game start. Her second goal came quickly thereafter, apprising the golden eagles that they were on Knight’s turf. Freshman Charlotte Naymik has been proving what an asset she also is to the Lady Knights, with a goal scored in the second half. Freshman Natalie Barnes scored the final goal for the team with 14:40 left in the game, with an assist made by Sophomore Carley Rapp.
Varsity held their own with a close game at 1-2, with Sophomore Team Captain Noelle Dubnicka scoring Knights’ exclusive goal. Noelle says, “as the season progresses we are improving a lot with combinations and possession.”
Wednesday October 5 Lady Knights take on the Brecksville Bees for a Conference game at Brecksville for 5/7pm start times. Then they’ll be at their final home game for senior night non-Conference game vs. Massillon @ 5/7 pm.
