The Nordonia Lady Knights are finding their stride — and the momentum is building throughout the program.
Nordonia made it two varsity wins in a row with an impressive 6-2 victory over Warren Harding, putting together another strong performance as the team continues to gain confidence.
Lilly Garey wasted little time getting things started, finding the back of the net for Nordonia’s opening goal. From there, the Lady Knights kept the pressure on.
Jena Soltis turned in a huge afternoon with a hat trick, while Sabrina Nanne and freshman Leah Garey added goals of their own to round out Nordonia’s six-goal attack.
One of the plays of the afternoon started all the way at the other end of the field. Goalkeeper Mallory Larrick delivered a ball from goal that found Leah Garey, who finished the play for the freshman’s goal and gave Larrick a rare goalkeeper assist.
And the winning isn’t limited to varsity. Nordonia’s JV squad has also picked up wins in each of its last two games, making it back-to-back victories for both teams and adding to the growing momentum around the Lady Knights program.
The recent results are a sign that things are beginning to click. With a new coaching staff, players settling into new positions, and several previously injured players returning to the field over the past two games, Nordonia is starting to show what this group can do at full strength.
Both squads will look to keep the momentum rolling Wednesday when Nordonia travels to Kenston.
