Lady Knights Varsity take on Lake (Uniontown)

The Lady knights started their season off with a 2-2 tie vs Uniontown Lake. Lake scored first but the Knights answered 3 minutes later to tie the game. Sophomore Kayla Wonsick scored her first goal of the season and Freshman Addison Francis provided the assist. The Lady Knights fell behind again and trailed 2-1 at the half. Just 6 minutes into the second half, the Lady Knights evened the game on a goal by Francis off an assist from Senior Athena Kolettis. Freshman Ava Kolettis, Noelle Dubnicka, Kenzi Ninham, Along with Francis shook off any nerves they may have had and were vital parts of a gritty team effort. Freshman Goalkeeper Summer Satterfield was fantastic on the night and made several key saves. Seniors Kolettis, Megan Abate, Maddie Wasielewski, Campbell McFerren, Analeise Artino, McKenna Kovach, and Kamarie Ninham all were vital in preserving the tie with their hard work. The Lady Knights return to action on Saturday, August 21st at home versus Saint Joseph Academy. Game times are 5/7pm.
