This spring the Macedonia Recreation Center has quite the line-up of festivities to entertain and challenge children and families. Jason Chadock; the parks and recreation director, along with Samantha Edgar; the special events and marketing coordinator have worked together along with their amazing devoted and creative staff to offer up some community events that are sure to engage individuals of all ages.
Saturday, March 11– Leprechaun Hunt – Try your luck this St. Patrick’s Day with a Lucky Leprechaun hunt through Longwood Park! Is he hiding at the end of the rainbow, or around the corner peeking amongst the trees? Complete the challenge and you may end up with some treats! All ages welcome!
Friday, March 31st– Egg Hunt- A fun way to kick off Spring, Longwood Park gets filled with eggs stuffed with treats and prizes! Don’t forget those baskets or bags to collect eggs in! FREE to participate! Ages: 6 months to 12 years; Registration required*
Saturday, April 22nd– Spring Fest- A celebration of Earth Day & Arbor Day in Longwood park – complete with craft vendors, kid’s activities, outdoor fitness classes, park cleanup, a plant swap, and food trucks!
Saturday, May 20th– Family Fishing Day- Hook, line, and sinker, this event is a favorite and has been offered for many years. Come cast your reel and try your luck at catching some fish at Longwood Park! Supplies will be provided. Ages: 5-17; Registration required*.
Registration is currently open for all spring programming and summer camps. Registration is limited. Contacting the Mac Rec early will ensure individual participation or if needed, your child can be added to the wait list as they try to get as many individuals registered as they can. Registration closes one week prior to events.
Sports Registrations are beginning and sometimes additional teams will be created based on wait list registration, so register early. T-ball and Coach Pitch have been added to the lineup.
