Getting Healthy with Julie offers casual way to find workout buddies
I’ve launched a new Facebook group to help Nordonia Hills area (and beyond) people find fitness partners and stay motivated together.
Getting Healthy with Julie started this week as a casual fitness buddy network. The idea is simple: members post when they want to walk, jog, run or work out, and others can join in. No pressure, no fees, just neighbors helping neighbors get moving.
I’ll be scheduling regular walks at public locations within about 15 minutes of Macedonia. But the group is designed so anyone can propose their own activities. Want to jog at a local trail Tuesday morning? Post it and see who’s interested.
The private group also welcomes healthy recipe sharing and wellness tips.
When weather doesn’t cooperate, indoor backup locations will be available.
Safety is important. Members are encouraged to meet in public places, and groups of three or more are recommended for first-time meetups with new people.
The group is free to join with no commitments required. Health and fitness business Facebook pages can join if they are advertisers. Anytime Fitness serves as the exclusive gym advertiser.
