Nordonia Bowling Team at MLK Invitational at Stonehedge: 2/6/22

On Sunday, all 4 teams participated in one of our favorite tournaments of the year. The MLK Invitational at Stonehedge was rescheduled due to the large amount of snow on MLK Day. In this tournament, the boys and girls competed as one team, with their scores added together. It’s a lot of fun.
Congratulations to the Boys & Girls Varsity team for finishing in 2nd place. After the qualifying round they were in 2nd place and moved into bracket play – best of 3 baker games. They knocked off #7 seed Cuyahoga Falls in 2 straight games. They then moved onto face the #3 seed Tallmadge and beat Tallmadge in a tight 3 game match. They then faced #1 seed Youngstown Boardman in the Finals. They lost in 3 games – losing game 3 only by 9 pins or so. It was a long day, but well done Varsity Knights.
The girls were led by Julia Frost with a 508 series, followed by Kolbey Lewin with 495, Kaitlyn McNutt 476 and Grace Bzdafka 467.
The boys were led by Kyle Drazil with a 653 series – including the high game for the tournament with a 268. Good Bowling Kyle! Mark Hupcey was 2nd on the team with a 594 series followed by Bryce Lewin with a 570. Ben Juriga chipped in with a 213 and RJ Lewis had games of 221 and 202. Nice bowling gentlemen!
Congrats again to the Varsity “combined” team.
