Dazzle Awards
The Dazzle Awards presented by Pat & John Chapman inspire and honor excellence high school musical theater and recognize the importance of musical theater and arts-education within the Northeast Ohio community. The program offers arts education opportunities throughout the school year including professional master classes, audition workshops, a technical apprenticeship, culminating regionally at Playhouse Square with the Dazzle Awards Ceremony. Dazzle awards are modeled after the Tony Awards®, to recognize outstanding musical theater productions and students. Each year, a curated panel of independent adjudicators attends one production at each participating school and provides educational feedback and scores to determine nominees and awards in over 12 categories.

The 2023 Dazzle Awards Ceremony will be held in the KeyBank State Theatre on May 20, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. The Dazzle Awards program is affiliated with the National High School Musical Theatre Awards (“The Jimmy Awards”) presented by The Broadway League Foundation. The regional winners of the Best Actor and Actress categories will represent Playhouse Square and Northeast Ohio at The National High School Musical Theatre Awards® (The Jimmy Awards®).

Richie Nyce is a student who runs all of the social media, he is a huge help! Logan Strauss is the Graphic Designer, and Keyshaun Smith will be helping run the Box Office. Everything else is run by the students. Kitty has helped oversee our makeup crew for almost every musical for the last 20 years or so.
