Nordonia Girls Basketball’s Weekly Rollercoaster: – From Victory Cheers to Defeat Sorrows

Welcome to our weekly recap, where we delve into the recent happenings in Nordonia Girls Basketball.

This week, the Nordonia Knights faced two challengers: Valley Forge on December 27, 2023, and Brecksville-Broadview Heights on January 3, 2024. The first game against Valley Forge was a clear victory for Nordonia, as they dominated the match with a final score of 60-11.

Nordonia was much smarter and better coordinated than Valley Forge in this game, beating them in every quarter. Nordonia sophomores Taylor Morgan and Haydn Paul were the best players in this game.

The scoring breakdown per quarter shows Nordonia’s consistent lead throughout the game:

However, Nordonia had a tough time in their next game on January 3 against Brecksville-Broadview Heights. The score was 36–66, which was a tough loss for them. Perhaps Brecksville-Broadview Heights was thinking about how they lost to Nordonia in January 2023 because they played a good game.

Brecksville-Broadview Heights’ Jessie Zenir really stood out. She scored 14 points, had eight steals, and grabbed six rebounds, which set a new season high for her in steals. Ashley Perdion was also a significant contributor to their victory.

The season records for these two teams are now 4-8 for Nordonia and 6-4 for Brecksville-Broadview Heights. Brecksville-Broadview Heights has won four of their last five games.

In the coming weeks, both sides have tough road games. On January 6, Nordonia will play Solon, an Ohio team that is ranked much higher.
