Nordonia Boys Varsity Bowling Finishes 6th At Spins Christmas Invitational

Welcome to our weekly recap focusing on the Nordonia Varsity Boys Bowling Team. This week, we’re taking a closer look at the performance of both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams in a recent tournament.

The first event was the yearly Christmas Invitational at Spins Lanes in Akron. The Nordonia Boys Varsity team showed off their skills there. The team did really well when they competed on Tuesday, December 26th. Out of 15 teams in the qualifying round, they came in second, which shows how good they are at the sport.

But in the match against Akron Ellet, the Knights had to deal with a tough set. They tried really hard, but they lost the first and third games in the best-of-three Baker set. With this score, they were ranked sixth overall in the event. It was said that the oil pattern on the lanes was especially hard, which made it even harder for the players.

On his own, Kyan Freyhauf stood out with a great 660 set that included scores of 199, 268, and 193. His 268 score in his game was the highest in the competition, which is an amazing accomplishment. Drew Kitzmiller added a 524 set with 180, 150, and 194 points. Both Aiden Bulanda and Josh Ware played well. Ware scored 211 and 192 in his games, which is especially impressive.

The JV team, participating in the varsity tournament, also had notable performances. Austin Stanek led the JV team with scores of 172, 157, and 213, totaling a 542 series. Riley Edgehouse added a 423 series with scores of 154, 126, and 143.

Looking ahead, the team is set to participate in the OSU Buckeye Classic at HP Lanes on Saturday, January 6 at 9:00 AM. This upcoming event presents another opportunity for the team to showcase their talent and continue improving their game. Best of luck to the Nordonia Boys Bowling team in their upcoming competitions!
