Nordonia Knights Drops Game To Hudson After Late Score

Thursday’s game against Hudson was a heartbreaker for Nordonia Knights, as they lost the lead late in a 9-7 defeat. The game was tied at seven with Hudson batting in the bottom of the sixth when an error scored two runs for Hudson.

Nordonia Knights collected six hits and Hudson had nine in the high-scoring affair.

Nordonia Knights opened up scoring in the first inning. Kilfoyle threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Nordonia Knights.

Nordonia Knights knotted the game up at seven in the top of the fifth inning, when Caden Gopalakrishna singled on a 2-2 count, scoring three runs.

Hudson scored five runs in the third inning. Buzzelli, MacKay, Strazek, and Rubin all drove in runs in the frame.

Kilfoyle was on the pitcher’s mound for Hudson. The pitcher surrendered four runs on one hit over one-third of an inning, striking out one.

Jonathan Mitchner started the game for Nordonia Knights. The righty surrendered seven runs on eight hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Logan Shaffer and Brad Buddenhagen entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and two-thirds innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Nordonia Knights racked up six hits in the game. Matt Carozza and Gopalakrishna each managed multiple hits for Nordonia Knights. Gopalakrishna and Carozza each collected two hits to lead Nordonia Knights.

Hudson collected nine hits on the day. MacKay and Scharville each collected multiple hits for Hudson. Hudson stole seven bases during the game as three players stole more than one. MacKay led the way with two.
