Nordonia School Board Meeting – March 20 District Launches Search for New Treasurer

The Board of Education unanimously voted March 20 to enter into a $7,900 contract with Finding Leaders to find a replacement for Matt Brown who will be leaving at the end of July to take over as treasurer for Beachwood City Schools.

Brown has been Nordonia’s treasurer for two years.

The firm, based in Sagamore Hills, found Brown two years ago.

The company describes itself as “a national network of experienced former or active superintendents, treasurers, educators, board of education members, human resource personnel, management and public engagement specialists who provide a personalized search for superintendents, treasurers, and other school administrators.”

The contract includes social media advertising and a first-year transition plan for the new treasurer.

“We’ve got a pretty good track record with them,” Board President Chad Lahrmer said of the firm “They are very good in this area.”

Legislation:

  • Consent agenda which included student trips and revision of policies passed.
  • Contract with Wings of Change Therapy, Inc. for one student, effective February 27, 2023 to June 30,
    2023. Not to exceed $21,000, paid out of IDEA-B Funds
  • A resolution to approve delayed start for grades 1 – 12 for the 2023-24 school year, passed.
  • A resolution to approve a quote from Final Forms, passed.
  • A resolution to approve purchase service contracts: Logan Strauss, passed.
  • A resolution containing a variety of personnel items including a resignation, passed.

The next Regular meeting of the Board will be held on April 17, 2023, at 7 p.m. at Northfield Elementary School, 9374 Olde Eight Road.
