Nordonia Varsity Knights Baseball Struggles Against Twinsburg Rally
The Nordonia Varsity Knights baseball team held their own through the mid-innings at George G. Dodge Intermediate School before Twinsburg broke the game open. Wolff pitched five and one-third innings, allowing five earned runs on five hits while striking out one. However, the Tigers’ patience at the plate led to eight total walks, including critical free passes in a six-run sixth inning that sealed the 9-2 victory for Twinsburg. Offensively, Canzoni and Kaminski provided the spark for Nordonia, with each driving in a run, while the defense successfully turned one double play to stifle earlier scoring threats.

The Nordonia Varsity Lady Knights softball team faced a dominant performance from Twinsburg’s Sweeney, who launched two home runs and drove in three runs to lead the Tigers to a 10-2 win. Nordonia’s Lambes went five innings in the circle, surrendering 12 hits as the Twinsburg lineup accumulated 16 total hits on the day. Smeal and Henderson provided back-to-back hits for the Lady Knights, and Paul was aggressive on the basepaths with two stolen bases. Despite the defensive efforts, Twinsburg’s Basel was effective, striking out 15 Nordonia batters and allowing only two unearned runs over seven innings.
