Northfield Village Council Meeting 5/10 Event to Benefit K-9 Unit

The Village of Northfield will throw a cornhole tournament and Party in the Park on August 19 at Smith Park, 125 Houghton Road from 6 p.m. to 10.

Proceeds from the first-of-its-kind event will benefit the Police K-9 Unit, according to Mayor Jennifer Domzalski.

The event will include a food truck, ax throwing, and a dunk tank.

The seat will be filled primarily by me,” Domzalski said.

First Movie in the Park set
Movie in the Park will kick off June 10 with a showing of “Home.” The movie will begin at sundown, according to Domzalski.

“The sun never cooperates no matter how hard we try,” Domzalski said.

The village will be providing refreshments.

“Come join us. Hang out,” she added. “We’ll wait for the sun to get dark enough to see the screen then we’ll watch the movie.”

There will be one movie per month through October. The movies have been picked and a Facebook event has been created, Domzalski said.

Legislation:
• An Emergency Resolution Confirming the Mayor/Director of Public Safety’s Appointment of Warren Olesinski to the Rank of Police Lieutenant, passed.
