Editor’s note: Last night is was announced that the MGM Northfield Park would close.
Over the past several years, the village has taken great care to maintain sufficient financial reserves in its budget in case an event occurred that significantly impacted the operations of the Racino and villages’ revenues from the facility. We will be monitoring our discretionary spending going forward in this time of uncertainty and make any necessary adjustments. In the meantime, all village operations and services will continue as normal apart from actions being taken to reduce interactions between large groups during this emergency. Once again, a short term loss in revenue has been planned for. For that reason, I am confident these events will not have a significant long term impact on the villages operations and plans. As always, we will get through this situation together and be back to normal in the not to distant future.
