EMILY M. GASIOREK (nee Czajkowski), age 93, passed away on October 30, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Henry H.; loving mother of Carolyn Gasiorek, Patt Hardie Rahm (John Rahm), Robert Gasiorek, and Stephen Gasiorek (Laura); dear grandmother of Michael Hardie (Antoinette), Emma Grace Gasiorek, Nicholas Gasiorek, Matthew Gasiorek, Elliot Gasiorek, Haley Zawacki, and Andrew Rahm; cherished great grandmother of Henry Hardie; sister of the late Alexander Czajkowski (Lorraine), the late Genevieve Dittrich (the late James), the late Helen Tesar (the late John), the late Edward Carr (the late Jeanne), the late Stella Palgut.

Emily can be described using two words, love and inspiration.  She was devoted to her family and became a caregiver for family members, friends, neighbors when they needed it most.  Emily’s faith was strong!  She had a devotion to the Divine Mercy and Blessed Mother.  Since 2020, she prayed the rosary daily with her daughters, keeping her family, friends, and all who needed prayer in her thoughts as she prayed. She played piano as a child and treasured her high school years at Marymount High School in Garfield Heights. Emily and her late husband, Hank enjoyed square dancing with the Bay Village Squares.  She was active in her her children’s schools and activities for years by being a Girl Scout Leader and volunteering her time at Incarnate Word Academy, an active parent with the Boy Scout Indian Dance Troup, part of the Band Boosters at St. Ignatius High School, and an administrator of the St. Ignatius annual scholarship drive for over 25 years, among other volunteer activities.  Having a birthday on April 1, meant that Emily was a master of April Fools’ Day pranks, especially Brussels sprouts “cake pops,”, chocolate covered Oreos with toothpaste filling and “angel food cake” made from a sponge. She was proud of her Polish heritage and was known for keeping family traditions alive, especially Polish Easter meal and Wigilia Christmas Eve Polish dinner. Her specialty was her annual homemade pierogi’s which is a tradition that is being carried out by her girls and grandson, Michael.
