Garnett Chernesky 88 of Sagamore Hills was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on January 1, 2022. A devoted wife of Donald (deceased) for 49 years, and loving mother to Donna (Dennis Diamond) and the apple of her eye grandson Daniel Diamond of Sagamore Hills. One of 9 siblings (Kip-Jean, Ralph, Herb-Boots, June-Bill, Victor, Betty, Beverly-Steve)  Garnett was a bit of a trailblazer. She left her farm home in West Virginia and came to Cleveland Ohio where she met Don and worked for White Motors and the Lyndhurst Police Department for many years. While she may have left the farm, it never left her as her elaborate vegetable gardens were always a labor of love. Garnett and Don had  passion for the water and boating, and were long time members of the North East Yacht Club in Cleveland. They spent many weekends cruising and fishing Lake Erie. The family would like to thank Natalie and the amazing staff at the Villa at St. Barnabas for making her later years happy and healthy. Friends may call at THE FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME, 356 W. AURORA RD. (OH RTE 82), SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION WEDNESDAY 4-8 P.M. Funeral Thursday 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m. at St. Barnabas Catholic Church.
