MARY KATHERINE GEARY. Our dear mom, Mary Katherine “Kathi” Phelps / Kahoe / Geary, 77, resident of Brookdale of Bath, previously Brecksville and Broadview Heights, Ohio, passed away September 12, 2023, with her family close by her side. She was born February 2, 1946, and raised by (previously deceased) Harvey and Frieda Phelps in Akron, Ohio. Later in life she reconnected with her birth family that she also loved dearly. Kathi studied Math and Physics at Wheeling College then graduated from Baldwin Wallace. Later, receiving her Master’s degree in Sociology from BW. She was truly brilliant and witty. Her sense of humor and her feisty spirit will be with us forever. She is survived by her three loving children: Jim (Sandy) Kahoe; Patti (Joe) Wochna; and Mike Kahoe and treasured grandchildren: Shannon and Erinn Kahoe, Sammi and Nolan Wochna, and Jake, Mike, and Kelsey Kahoe. Kathi spent her professional career at Ameritrust, National City Bank, then PNC prior to her retirement. She had many cherished friendships dating back to grade school, work and old neighbors. She was a huge fan of Cleveland sports teams. She loved golf, enjoyed traveling, and most of all, loved her seven grandchildren. The family is grateful for the love, care and support she received from the residents and staff at Brookdale of Bath. Family will have a “Celebration of Life” November 11, 2023 from 11am to 4pm at her son’s home in Bath (2881 Walnut Ridge, Bath, Ohio).
