Obituary: VALENTINO (Tino) CHIABAI

VALENTINO (Tino) CHIABAI, age 88 passed away 10/8/22 surrounded by his family.  Tino was born 10/29/33 to the late Valentino & Regina (nee Vogrig).  Tino is now reunited with his beloved wife Josephine (nee Santoro).  He will forever be missed by his children Valentino (Gloria), Constance (Stewart) Guy, and Regina (Wayne) Spuckler.   Most adored Grandpa of Stewart (Shelly) Guy, Steven Guy, Michael Sheba, Dane (Tiffany) Spuckler, Jennifer (Adam) Duerk, Alexander (Kim) Newbauer, Phillip Sheba, Jessica Skimin, Julia, Valentino and Dante Chiabai.  The BEST Great Grampa to Drew, Kairi and Keegan Guy, Morgan and Cooper Newbauer, Jamey Skimin, Skylar and Josephine Chiabai, Jaxson and Owen Duerk.  Tino is also survived by sisters Mary Savioli and Nina Robich, as well as countless nieces and nephews and many dear and loving friends.  Besides his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by son Charles, grandson Jeffrey Newbauer and sisters Inez Peroli and Ida Onderak. Tino served in the US Army and retired from Reliance Electric after 40 years of service.  He loved spending time with young people and became “Coach” and Mr. “C” to many members of the Maple Hts. Boys League (where he also umpired), Girls Softball League and Bantam Football.  He continued to coach well after his own children were not able to play any longer.  He enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in their activities.   He loved Ohio sports especially The Browns, “Indians” and The Buckeyes and rarely could be seen without his fan gear.  Tino also loved music, especially polkas and dabbling on his accordion and enjoyed entertaining at family gatherings.  But most of all, Tino loved his growing family and put them first and foremost in his life. Friends may call at the FERFOLIA FUNERAL HOME 356 W. AURORA RD. (ST. RT. 82) SAGAMORE HILLS FOR VISITATION FRIDAY 1-3 and 5-8PM. Funeral Saturday 11:30AM at the Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Tino’s life 12 NOON at St. Barnabas Catholic Church. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
