THANK YOU TO THE COMMUNITY “Fill the Bus 2021 Food Drive”

Northfield, OH – November 1, 2021

The Emergency Assistance Center would like to thank the Nordonia and Twinsburg communities for another very successful Fill the Bus Food Drive.  This was the 7th annual food drive that has grown to be a collaborative effort between both communities.

In addition to collections held at the Nordonia Hills City Schools and the Twinsburg City Schools, the Community organizations that participated this year were:

The Nordonia Ministerium, Drayer Physical Therapy in Macedonia, The Goddard School in Macedonia, Kindercare in Macedonia, United Methodist Church in Macedonia, Nordonia Hills Rotary, VFW Post 6768 in Northfield, and the Nordonia Hills branch of the Akron Summit County Library.  This year Macedonia Parks & Recreation also promoted the collection at their October events.

The Twinsburg Public Library, The Goddard School in Twinsburg, and the Twinsburg Ministerium.

The grand total received for 2021 was 16,600 pounds.  This was the 3rd highest total for the 7 years this event has been held.

Statement for Joyce Hunt Executive Director of The Emergency Assistance Center:  “I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the Nordonia Hills and Twinsburg communities! It was beautiful to see schools, businesses, civic organizations and churches coming together to support The Emergency Assistance Center.  Special thanks to the Nordonia and Twinsburg football teams and coaches who delivered the donations early on a Saturday morning, as well as to the Bohna family who provided space for us to process the donations. Our neighbors in need appreciate your generosity!”
