The Cleveland Browns Do Not Lose on Sunday

The Cleveland Browns had their bye week and did not play this past Sunday. No, the team didn’t lose the bye week even though that is a classic joke here in these parts. The Browns head into a matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6. It’ll be in The Land against one of the best teams in the league on the 15th.

The worst part about this past week was not that the Browns didn’t play, but since the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted the Baltimore Ravens, both of those teams couldn’t lose.

Well, we all had two weeks to dwell on the horrific game in which the Browns played against said Ravens at home and lost by a score of 28-3. The Cleveland defense, which was regarded as utterly amazing, ran out of steam.

Of course, the biggest news of that game was that quarterback Deshaun Watson was medically cleared to play despite having a right shoulder issue. The face of the franchise took himself out for the afternoon and it was backup quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson that ended up playing.

What a disaster that was as DTR went 19/36 for 121 yards and three interceptions. Yes, fans are missing former backup Joshua Dobbs. The Cardinals acquired Dobbs and a 2024 seventh-round pick from the Cleveland Browns in exchange for a 2024 fifth-round pick in August of 2023.

Moving forward, it does help with the bye week allowing those in Cleveland to get to heal before the next game. Players such as Watson and defensive end Myles Garrett amongst others must get healthy.

The Browns come in with a 2-2 record. Fans are questioning if head coach Kevin Stefanski should be in charge of calling the plays. Despite Alex Van Pelt being the offensive coordinator.

After the 49ers game, the Browns square off against the Colts in Indianapolis, then in Seattle against the Seahawks and at home against the Cardinals.

The biggest factor moving forward is Deshaun Watson’s ability to actually play quarterback and stay healthy. Additionally, he and his teammates are on good terms with each other. Finally, that the Browns are well enough to help the defense in the sense that they aren’t thrown back out there because the offense struggled. That was the hard part of the Ravens game in Cleveland.

Certainly, after the Browns beat the Titans by a score of 27-3 at home, fans were optimistic. Then, the loss took all of that away. Let’s see what the team is able to show in the upcoming matchups. Yes, it is a long season after all.

The Browns always make the year interesting and usually, it’s not for the right reasons. The Dawgs want to ruin our lives by making sure it isn’t fun for us fans. Let’s think positively though, right? Hey, it could be worse like an 0-16 season for the team. Sadly, we all know that has happened here in these parts.

Maybe the Browns will prove us wrong as this season progresses and everything improves after this bye week. Not losing on a Sunday is always a blessing after all.
