The St. Barnabas 7th-8th Grade Football Team Wins Greater Cleveland CYO Championship

The St. Barnabas 7th-8th grade football team won the Greater Cleveland CYO Championship on October 29th at Walsh Jesuit High School.  The Blazers beat Holy Family (Stow) 21-20 with a 4th quarter drive and a big defensive stand.  St. Barnabas was the only team in the Diocese with a perfect 9-0 record.  The Cleveland Diocese geography comprises numerous schools from Avon (west) to Chardon (east) to Akron (south).

The team was made up of mostly St. Barnabas students, along with players from St. Rita (Solon) and St. Joan of Arc (Chagrin Falls).  This was the third 7th-8th CYO football championship in the 60+ year history of St. Barnabas Football.

Fr. James (Pastor of St. Barnabas) led the team in prayer prior to the start of the game.
