Two Nordonia Knights Pitchers Rally Together to Shutout Highland, 5 – 0

Nordonia Knights defeated Highland 5-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Matt Janosek struck out Matt Fillinger to finish off the game.

Nordonia Knights fired up the offense in the second inning, when Michael Ebert drew a walk, scoring one run.

A single by Sam Napier in the fifth inning was a positive for Highland.

Hunter Grams took the win for Nordonia Knights. Grams went two and a third innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out two and walking zero. Janosek threw four and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Casey Myser took the loss for Highland. The hurler allowed two hits and three runs over three and a third innings, striking out five.

Nordonia Knights racked up seven hits. Ebert and Jonathan Mitchner each had multiple hits for Nordonia Knights. Mitchner and Ebert each managed two hits to lead Nordonia Knights. Nordonia Knights was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Owen Smotek had the most chances in the field with eight.

Napier went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Highland in hits.
