The Annual State of the Schools will be extra special this year!  We hope you can join us as we welcome new Cuyahoga Valley Career Center Superintendent David Mangas, Jr.  AND we’ll be meeting in the beautiful new Reserve at Brentwood on the Brentwood Healthcare Campus (907 W. Aurora Rd., Sagamore Hills).  Nordonia Hills Superintendent Dr. Joe Clark will also have time to tell up how the Nordonia schools are faring this year.  This annual event will take place on Thursday, Oct. 12 at 11:30.  Please RSVP to 330-467-8956 so the chef is prepared!  Admission is $15 for Chamber members and $20 for all others.  The community is invited as always.

Dig out that chili recipe!  It’s one of the hottest events of the year – think chili peppers, black pepper and in some cases, jalapenos!  The 2nd annual Nordonia Hills Chamber of Commerce Chili Cook-Off, Oct. 24, 11:00 – 2:00, at the Macedonia City Center/Senior Center promises to be just as hot.

Event organizers are looking for cooks in the community to enter the contest, and come prepared to share their best chili recipe. Attendees will select the winner and award a special ribbon – and bragging rights!

NHCOC members only – Display space is also available to promote senior-targeted products and services.  The cost for this space is $25 plus a raffle item. Space is limited so please don’t delay is reserving yours.

Chili connoisseurs get all of the chili they can eat for $4.  (A deli tray will be available for non-chili eaters.)  Tuesday is the regularly scheduled Senior Out-to-Lunch day and the community also will be invited. Elmcroft of Sagamore Hills will be providing dessert to celebrate the “lunch bunch” anniversary.

Those looking to walk away with a ribbon and bragging rights for this year’s best chili can enter by calling a committee member:
