Executive Shapiro Recognizes Summit County EMS during EMS Week, May 21-27

During times of emergency and crisis, Emergency Services respond 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and 365 days a year. EMS week serves as an opportunity to recognize the fearless men and women in emergency services who continuously give of themselves to serve a greater good.

“I want to honor our EMS heroes in Summit County this week,” said Executive Shapiro. “These men and women are our guardians in times of crisis, emergency, and danger. Summit County has a tremendous EMS community that works tirelessly day and night to keep our county safe and secure and I would like to personally thank all of them. We also pause to recognize the heroic actions of international first responders in recent days.”

EMS week was established in 1974 and continues to serve as a reminder of the essential role emergency services and first responders serves in our community and across the nation.
