FISCAL OFFICER KRISTEN M. SCALISE RECOGNIZED WITH AWARD OF FINANCIAL REPORTING ACHIEVEMENT

Akron, Ohio, April 3rd, 2024 – Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise CPA, CFE is pleased  to announce that the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded  to the County of Summit by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and  Canada (GFOA) for its annual comprehensive financial report (ACFR). The Certificate of  Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and

financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its  management.

The certificate also recognizes Fiscal Officer Scalise with the Award of Financial Reporting Achievement  for responsibly preparing the report and demonstrating a constructive spirit of full disclosure.

The ACFR is prepared annually for the purpose of reporting financial information relating to the county,  such as financial statements, supporting schedules, statistical tables, and narrative explanations. It  plays a significant role in government because it maintains the transparency and accountability of  public funds.
