Longwood Manor Update 5-27-18

By John Cassmer

LMHS hosted the CHIPS (Council of Historic Institutions Preservation Society) quarterly meeting on May 19th. We thank the City for permitting us to use the Senior Center for the general meeting which was followed by tours of the Manor. We received many favorable comments and congratulations from the members about the progress that has been made.

The Longwood Committee received a $200 donation from Home Depot of Macedonia  in the form of coupons we can use towards purchases at the Store

Longwood Manor will be hosting the next  Century Homes Association bi-monthly meeting on June 10th.  The group was formed in 1974 to help identify and preserve older homes in the greater Akron/Western Reserve area. Safety requirements will be enforced by LMHS members

The current volunteer project at the Manor is restoring the patio on the south side of the Manor house. It is scheduled to be completed this summer.
