Obituary: Gail Yannarella

Gail Yannarella, long-time resident of Macedonia, passed away unexpectedly in her home last weekend at the age of 77.

Born in 1942 in Garfield, Ohio she was the daughter of Ralph and Emilie Sigmund.

Gail retired from Nordonia High School after almost 30 years where she was a teacher’s aide, advocating for students with emotional and developmental disabilities. “Miss Yann” as she was called, was known for her snarky sense of humor, outrageous fashion and her purple hair.

Gail enjoyed crafting, reading and socializing, but most of all loved spending time in her garden and with her cats.

She leaves behind a daughter, Marnie (Grabowski) son-in-law Kurt, 3 grandsons and many other cherished friends and relatives.

Her daughter asks that in remembering Gail, you will recall a time when she touched your heart or made you laugh, as she did with everyone she met.

Private memorial services were held by her family. Arrangements by Johnson-Romito Funeral Home Twinsburg, Ohio.   www.johnsonromito.com
