Plato’s Closet has arrived, standing next to Marc’s in Sagamore Square!

By Chris Ramos

For those who aren’t familiar with Plato’s Closet, it serves as a fashion hub for shoppers who wish to be kind to their pockets. Customers are offered a huge selection of designer/hip clothing that are up to 70% off of mall retail prices! Plato’s Closet also allows customers to be paid in cash up front for bringing in gently worn, brand name clothing or clothing that is currently trending (see what they buy). Typically, they aim for items that have been in the retail stores within the past 12 to 18 months. All stores are independently owned franchises.

Owners Hassan & Christina are thrilled to introduce the new location, especially since Sagamore Square isn’t flooded with bustling cars and tedious traffic lights as the Macedonia Commons. Customers have emphasized that perk. Plato’s Closet is located right next to Marc’s (the previous Party Station location).

As I talked with Hassan & Christina, the topic of retail erosion was placed under review, as online shopping continues to soar. What makes Plato’s Closet unique, or as Hassan described “recession proof”, is the cash and dash exchange. You receive a payout while also helping another customer buy those same clothes for great prices. Christina mentioned that teens will walk away with up to two hundred or three hundred dollars from cashing in clothes that are rarely worn or may have never been worn, with more at home! The store is currently in need of more inventory, a fact which should encourage people to stop by immediately. A win-win situation, what’s not to like about that?

Coupled with the economic incentives, Plato’s Closet offers a comfortable setting as the employees are a young and enthusiastic bunch, making the experience enjoyable. Hassan & Christina were great conversationalists who are ecstatic to be in the community and are looking forward to make their business grow.

Welcome, Plato’s Closet!
