Two Nordonia Knights Pitchers Rally Together In Shutout Victory Against Euclid

Nordonia Knights defeated Euclid 21-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Zach Westbrooks induced a fly out from #7 to finish off the game.

Nordonia Knights got things moving in the first inning, when Brendan O’Donnell singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Nordonia Knights put up five runs in the fourth inning.  The offensive firepower by Nordonia Knights was led by Nick Heiser, Tony Mellone, Tyler Juriga, and Robby Levak, all knocking in runs in the inning.

One bright spot for Euclid was a single by #23 in the first inning.

Luke Jackson took the win for Nordonia Knights. He lasted four innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out five.  Westbrooks threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

#12 took the loss for Euclid. He surrendered seven runs on two hits over one inning.

Nordonia Knights scattered 14 hits in the game.  Heiser, Matt Yokiel, Jackson, Levak, and Juriga each collected multiple hits for Nordonia Knights.  Juriga, Levak, Jackson, Yokiel, and Heiser each collected two hits to lead Nordonia Knights.  Nordonia Knights was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Yokiel made the most plays with  four.  Mike Hamrick led Nordonia Knights with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.
