Nordonia Varsity Softball: Lady Knights fall to Canfield 5-4 in 10 innings

It came down to the last play, but Nordonia Knights Varsity was on the wrong end of a 5-4 defeat to Canfield on Thursday. The game was tied at four with Canfield batting in the bottom of the tenth when Gross singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

In the first inning, Nordonia Knights Varsity got their offense started when Lexi Maciejowski doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. In the top of the sixth inning, Nordonia Knights Varsity tied things up at four. An error scored one run for Nordonia Knights Varsity. Gross led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Canfield. She surrendered four runs on eight hits over ten innings, striking out eight.

Hallie Majoros was on the rubber for Nordonia Knights Varsity. She surrendered five runs on seven hits over nine innings, striking out four. Nordonia Knights Varsity tallied eight hits. Maciejowski and Majoros each had multiple hits for Nordonia Knights Varsity. Majoros and Maciejowski each managed two hits to lead Nordonia Knights Varsity. Canfield scattered eight hits in the game. Baker, Rose, and Gross all collected multiple hits for Canfield.
