ALEXANDRIA, VA – Chad Edward Cefaratti, SPC United States Army, 51, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2022.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a resident of Sagamore Hills, Ohio and Alexandria, Virginia. A 1990 Nordonia High graduate, he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Technology from Kaplan University.
An Army Veteran, he served our country as a high-level security video teleconferencing production manager with the military and with the Department of the Army as a government employee, for over 20 years. He was responsible for day-to-day operations of secure and non-secure video teleconferencing for organizations within the National Capital Region in the Military District of Washington, D.C. at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
Chad had numerous interests, one being music. He gained inspiration and found connections on many levels from song lyrics written by various artists. An avid vinyl LP collector, he enjoyed rocking to his favorite bands: Kiss, W.A.S.P., Dio, Whitesnake, Pink Floyd, and the Scorpions, to name just a few. He would surprise everyone with his vast knowledge of music and artists.
Much like his father, Chad also had a love for cinema movies, always watching, collecting, and sharing his favorites. Puzzles and model building were hobbies he enjoyed throughout his life.
Chad loved hockey and football. He was a long time Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan and was a Fantasy Football Champion.
Chad had a soft side as well. He loved puppies, panda bears, and beautiful nature scenes. He had a fondness for sea turtles, especially the Galapagos tortoise.
Chad was most passionate about spending time with his parents, family, and closest friends. He always found a way to be creative and share his love for them with gifts of affection. He spread his love with a simple hug, a kiss, or a beautifully worded card. When visiting, he would pay attention to details and anything you said, then tease you about it later.
A loving son, brother, uncle, and friend, Chad was loved unconditionally, and he will forever hold a very special place in our hearts.
Chad was preceded in death by his father, Joseph P. Cefaratti, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Rita J. Cefaratti; sister, Kimberly A. Cefaratti; brothers, Joseph P., III (Cynthia R. Brayo-Cefaratti), and Anthony; niece, Bryjanna K. Brayo-Cefaratti and nephew, Dominic J. Brayo-Cefaratti.
