On February 18, 2023, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to Massillon Road in the City of Green regarding a domestic incident. A female resident reported Emmanuel Remenyi entered her residence in violation of a protection order. The residence was search by responding deputies and he was not located on scene. However, several suspected explosive devices were located inside the home. The apartment complex was subsequently evacuated.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad and the ATF responded to the scene. During the search of the residence, investigators located numerous homemade explosive devices and components used to manufacture explosive devices. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered at the scene.
Emmanuel Remenyi, age 48 of Green was arrested and charged with Illegal Manufacture or Processing Explosives (F-2) and Violation of a Protection Order (M-1). Remenyi is being held at the Summit County Jail. Additional charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.
