The week began with the Varsity Boys teaming up with the Girls for the MLK tournament at Spins Bowl in Akron. The Knights secured 2nd place after a series of intense matches, most especially a tough match against Youngstown Boardman in the finals.
A standout performance came from Aiden Bulanda, with a high game of 284 and a series of 693, notching the tournament’s highest game and series.
The match on Thursday, 18th, against Twinsburg was close, testing the Nordonia boys at Roseland Lanes. The final baker game was decisive, and though the Knights fell short by a whisker, the effort was commendable.
Despite a strong showing from Josh Ware and solid scores across the board, the team narrowly missed a win.
The Copley Tomahawk Invitational on Sunday, January 21st, brought a different rhythm with its all-Baker format. Qualifying 4th, they triumphed over Highland and Cuyahoga Falls before facing a fierce Coventry team in the finals. The Knights secured a respectable second place.
On January 22nd, the Nordonia and Tallmadge varsity teams competed in a Suburban League bowling match at Stonehedge 300 Bowling Center. Nordonia won with a team score of 2329, with standout performances from Aiden Blanda, Josh Vale, Drew Kitzmiller, and Ryan Flaherty.
On January 24th, the Nordonia varsity bowling team defeated Wadsworth in a thrilling Suburban League match at Northwoods Bowling Center. The team had Justin Roberts leading the charge with 465 pins.
Drew Kitzmiller and Josh Vale contributed 441 and 425 points, respectively, while Josh Hermann scored 235. The team also demonstrated their collaborative strength and strategic prowess during the Baker Games.
