I reached out to the Macedonia Police Department to learn more about the new School Resource Officer (SRO) vehicle, including its purpose and funding. Lt. Christian Costello provided the following details:
“The SRO vehicle was funded and purchased by the City for our SRO program at the high school. The money used came from leftover funds after we updated our outdated fleet in 2023 and 2024. The vehicle is designed to stand out from the typical black-and-white police cars, making the SRO more visible and approachable to students and staff. It also serves as a community engagement tool, showcasing the strong partnership between the school and the police department.”
