On January 13, 2025, the Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to an apartment in the 4700 block of Massillon Road in the City of Green for reports of an altercation between a 44 year old female and a 43 year old male. After speaking with the female, authorities were concerned she was unsafe in her residence. She indicated the male may have been in possession of a knife.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team responded to the scene due to a possible hostage situation. SWAT negotiators were able to talk to communicate with the female, who exited the residence, and subsequently spoke with detectives. During the interview with the possible victim, the male exited the home and was detained by deputies.
Detectives were able to determine no criminal offenses had been committed by either party. The male and female were both arrested for outstanding arrest warrants.
