Nordonia Varsity Knights could not keep up with Brecksville-Broadview Heights Varsity Bees 5-1 on Wednesday.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights Varsity Bees were the first to get on the board in the third when Dicocco hit a solo home run to right field.
Reed earned the win for Brecksville-Broadview Heights Varsity Bees. The pitcher allowed six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five and walking two. Evan Leitner took the loss for Nordonia Varsity Knights. The right-handed pitcher went four innings, surrendering five runs on six hits, striking out seven and walking four.
Justin Smigel, Nordonia Varsity Knights’s number nine hitter, led the team with two hits in three at-bats. Dominik Canzoni went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in.
Chermonte went 1-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in. Dicocco went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Brecksville-Broadview Heights Varsity Bees in hits. Brecksville-Broadview Heights Varsity Bees turned two double plays in the game.
