Twinsburg Varsity Tigers defeated Stow-Munroe Falls Varsity Bulldogs 11-2 on Wednesday thanks in part to seven runs in the fourth inning. an error scored one run, C. Kimmel singled, scoring two runs, Natalie Betz induced K. Eder to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, M. Sweeney singled, scoring one run, R. Velican doubled, scoring one run, and P. Sweeney singled, scoring one run.
A double by Velican put Twinsburg Varsity Tigers on the board in the top of the first.
A. Basel earned the win for Twinsburg Varsity Tigers. The pitcher allowed three hits and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out six and walking five. Betz took the loss for Stow-Munroe Falls Varsity Bulldogs. The righty went four innings, allowing nine runs (two earned) on eight hits, striking out two and walking two. Eder appeared in relief for Twinsburg Varsity Tigers.
Twinsburg Varsity Tigers accumulated 10 hits in the game. Velican provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Twinsburg Varsity Tigers with three runs batted in. The third baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Sweeney went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Twinsburg Varsity Tigers in hits. T. Peiris collected two hits for Twinsburg Varsity Tigers in four at bats.
Terah Bentley, Lexi Watson, Aiyana Williams, and Olivia Patterson each collected one hit for Stow-Munroe Falls Varsity Bulldogs. Watson and H Berringer each drove in one run for Stow-Munroe Falls Varsity Bulldogs. Stow-Munroe Falls Varsity Bulldogs had patience at the plate, piling up five walks for the game. Alivia Gandee and Kailey Adams led the team with two free passes each. Bentley stole two bases. Stow-Munroe Falls Varsity Bulldogs turned one double play in the game.
