Sagamore Hills Police Respond to Natural Death at Hospice Patient’s Home

Officers Assist Fire Department with Elderly Woman’s Passing

Sagamore Hills police assisted Macedonia Fire Department early Thursday morning at a Parkside Drive residence where a 90-year-old hospice patient passed away.

Officers were dispatched at 1:34 a.m. after receiving a report that an elderly woman had slid out of her wheelchair. The woman’s daughter, who was present at the scene, informed responders that her mother was under hospice care and had a Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order in place.

The woman passed away at 2:06 a.m. The incident was classified as a natural death with officers providing assistance to the fire department’s rescue squad response.

The case was cleared by 2:34 a.m. with no further police action required.

Police Recover Stolen Cell Phone Using ‘Find My iPhone’ Technology

Device Located at Houghton Road Address

Sagamore Hills officers successfully recovered a stolen cell phone Friday afternoon after the victim used tracking technology to locate her device.

A woman contacted police claiming her cell phone had been taken and was able to track it using “Find My iPhone” to a Houghton Road address in Sagamore Hills. Officers responded to the location at 3:07 p.m. and successfully recovered the device.

The blue iPhone with a pink “Chanel” case was listed as stolen property in the incident. The case was classified as receiving stolen property and cleared by 3:47 p.m.

Northfield Tire Reports Fraudulent Check Used for Transaction

Police Take Report with Suspect Information

Northfield Village police responded to Northfield Tire on Northfield Road Monday afternoon for a report of a fraudulent check being used for a transaction.

Officers arrived at the scene at 1:58 p.m. and were provided with suspect information and a contact number for the individual. A report was taken regarding the passing of bad checks incident.

Citizens Bank Reports Broken Window at Northfield Road Branch

Investigation Closed with No Further Action Required

Northfield Village police investigated property damage at the Citizens Bank branch on Northfield Road Monday morning.

An employee called Macedonia Dispatch at 9:42 a.m. to report the property damage. After investigation, the branch manager was unsure how the window was broken but wanted the incident documented. The case was closed with no further action needed.
