The Historical Society of Old Northfield is adding a second presentation on the ABC Railway Interurban Trolley after strong interest in the first event. Resident expert Allen Pfenninger will once again take the stage to walk attendees through a piece of local transportation history.
What The Presentation Covers
Pfenninger is a member of The Historical Society of Old Northfield and an interurban historian who studies the old Akron, Bedford and Cleveland Northern Ohio Traction and Light electric railroad. His talk will explore how interurban trolleys once rumbled through Northfield and Macedonia and helped shape the communities as they exist today. Attendees will learn about the railway’s role in daily life a century ago.
Given the time of year, the program will also include a few spooky stories. These include accounts of tragic accidents and strange happenings that took place along the trolley line.
