Residents with questions about Medicaid will have a chance to get answers close to home this December. The Summit County Department of Job and Family Services will host two community forums on recent and upcoming changes to Medicaid eligibility and requirements. The changes stem from federal legislation.
The first session will be held at Twinsburg Public Library, a short drive for Nordonia Hills families. A second session follows the next night in Akron.
What the Forums Will Cover
County staff will explain how the changes will be put into place. They will also share resources available to help affected individuals and families. Topics will include:
- Changes to Medicaid eligibility for noncitizens that took effect Oct. 1
- New work requirements and exemptions beginning Jan. 1, 2027
- Changes to renewal timelines, verification and documentation requirements
- Best practices for helping individuals keep their Medicaid coverage
