Summit County Animal Control is celebrating the season of gratitude with a deal for anyone ready to bring home a dog. Adoption fees are reduced to $28 for the entire month of November.
The FURever Thankful Adoption Event runs Nov. 1 through Nov. 30. County Executive Ilene Shapiro and Summit County Animal Control announced the promotion as a thank you to the community. According to the county, residents have supported the shelter dogs in many ways this year. They have shared photos of lost pets on Facebook, volunteered to walk and play with the animals, and opened their homes to new pets.
What the $28 Fee Covers
The regular adoption fee for a dog is $94. During November, the cost drops to $28, a savings of $66.
Every dog is microchipped and fully vetted before going home. That care includes bloodwork, flea treatment, intestinal deworming, spay or neuter surgery and vaccinations. Adopters also receive a 2026 Summit County Dog License, which is included in the adoption price.
