Linda Lehmann Masek has once again penned a heartwarming, nonfiction, animal tale, spiritual in origin, that features, not just humans, but cats, horses, dogs, squirrels and many others set in the Northfield Ohio area. It is about these animals and their stories that this book is written, the background, lives and the effect they had on people such as the author, who is a “cat” person. Besides having three cats of her own, she was a “cat rescuer” and today helps take care of homeless strays along with an entire neighborhood of cat lovers. Many of these animals have survived in spite of impossible odds and found homes among families in the Northfield area.
Although every “kitty tale” doesn’t have a happy ending, all tile stories are uplifting since they demonstrate characteristics, not just of the cats, but of the group of people who do their best to help them in spite of overwhelming odds. cats and other animals love unconditionally; there are no strings attached to their feelings for people. The people who love them in return go to extreme means to insure their survival and provide the inspirational overtones throughout this book. These animals repaid their owners with love many times over; they loved like so many animals with their hearts. A Return to the Land of Kitty Tails is a history of love as shown by the animals and people in these stories, all of whom made the world a little better place because of their feelings for kitties. When an animal passes away, many of these same people believe that their pets wait for them at the “Rainbow Bridge” where animals and people will be reunited again for all time.
This sequel is about the history of many extraordinary animals. A Return to the Land of Kitty Tails is not the author’s story but theirs; she has endeavored to tell each tale to the best of her ability. The combination of these everyday people who do inspired things make the stories in Kitty Tails easy to identify with since these men, women and children are just like everyone else; sometimes they win and sometimes they lose, but most important, they never quit, regardless of how impossible the odds. Linda Lehmann Masek is a teacher with two advanced degrees from Case-Western Reserve University and Cleveland State University. Besides being a photographer, artist and published writer, she has had thirteen books previously published including a children’s book, Mag-ni-fi-cat, The Poison Tree from Amazon Books and eight romantic-suspense novels from Fireside/Lux Books. She has also been a collaborator on two other nonfiction books, AT & T Pioneers Celebrating 100 Years of Fellowship. Loyalty, and Service and The Encyclopedia of Cleveland History.
The author always knew she wanted to be a writer; she penned her first “horse” novel at ten years of age and hasn’t stopped writing since then! Her best creating is done at home surrounded by her three kitty “children”, who are often featured in her books or articles. A native Clevelander, the author enjoys such activities as gardening, traveling and supporting area animal shelters, where all three of her cats originally called home. Regarding her latest book, the author relates that “when people say Kitty Tails or its sequel makes them cry , laugh, love, reaffirm their faith or go down to the local animal shelter and adopt some poor homeless animal, I know I have succeeded. They have offered me the highest praise a writer can have. have made them feel for the people and the animals in my story.”
