Ebert’s Walk-off Gives Nordonia Knights Victory Over Westlake Varsity Demons, Win 3 – 2

Nordonia Knights took their game in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off walk at the end of the game to topple Westlake Varsity Demons. The game was tied at two with Nordonia Knights batting in the bottom of the seventh when Michael Ebert drew a walk, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Nordonia Knights pitchers struck out seven, while Westlake Varsity Demons pitchers sat down six.

Nick Bollas was the winning pitcher for Nordonia Knights. The bulldog surrendered zero runs on one hit over one inning, walking zero. Matt Janosek and Dash Lanzilotta entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Chris Protos was on the hill for Westlake Varsity Demons. The righthander allowed zero hits and one run over five and a third innings, striking out five. Evan Kortes threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Ben Chesser started the game for Nordonia Knights. The hurler went four innings, allowing two runs on one hit and striking out five

Owen Smotek and Alex Canupp each collected one hit to lead Nordonia Knights.
