Fall Season: Hard-Fought Victory: Nordonia Volleyball Triumphs Over Mayfield

The Nordonia volleyball team hosted Mayfield High School’s volleyball team at the Nordonia High School Large Gym on Bedford Road in Macedonia. In an impressive match, the Nordonia Varsity fought fiercely, contending with 10 game points throughout the game before ultimately securing a victory.

The Nordonia Girls, with a current record of 2-3, achieved a significant win by defeating the senior-led Mayfield team in straight sets, with scores of 26-24, 31-29, and 25-14. 

In the first set, Mayfield initially led 24-19, but a standout performance by sophomore Mariah Moss, who came off the bench, provided a spark that led to seven consecutive points and a victory in the opening game.

Coach Rocco Covelli praised his team’s tenacity in overcoming challenges during the game against Mayfield. He expressed readiness for their upcoming fixture and the team’s determination to perform well.

“We finally put a complete game together. This team doesn’t quit. We battled for 10 game points throughout the match and prevailed at the end! This was a big win for our program, beating a very good team in Mayfield, and we’re looking forward to our next challenge.”

Varsity: Nordonia Lady Knight Volleyball team won

UP NEXT: The Nordonia Varsity Volleyball Girls Team is scheduled for an away game against the Twinsburg High School team on September 5th. The action-packed evening will kick off with the freshman match at 5:00 PM, followed by JV around 6:00 PM, and the varsity match will conclude the night starting at approximately 7:00 PM.
