Fall Season: Nordonia Boys’ Cross Country Team at Suburban League Meet

The Nordonia Varsity Boys competed in the National Division of the Suburban League Meet, which featured eight schools. In the 5000-meter cross-country race, a total of 225 boys participated, with 25 of them representing the Nordonia Boys Knights.

Nordonias cross country boys faced a challenging race and finished 8th overall, amassing a total team score of 187 points. The North Royalton team (184 points) was placed 7th above the Nordonia Knight.

Aiden Flynn led the Boys Knight Varsity team with an individual score of 29, completing the race in 17:57.40 and securing the 31st position. Logan Purcell achieved an individual score of 35, finishing the race in 18:09.70 and claiming the 39th spot.

Other key contributors to the team’s total score included Andy Cundra, who finished 42nd with a time of 18:12.10, Branden Garren in 45th place with a time of 18:14.80, and Ethan Mellott, who secured the 50th position with a time of 18:24.50.

Hudson High School emerged as the Suburban League Meet champion with 25 points, while Brecksville (60) and Solon (92) claimed the second and third positions, respectively. Hudson’s Bradley Schuster clinched victory in the individual race, crossing the finish line in 16:22.30. Hudson’s George Barker (16:24.10) and Brecksville’s Ryan Kerber (16:28.20) secured the second and third spots, respectively.

UP NEXT: The Nordonia Cross Country boys will be making a trip to Madison, Ohio, for the OHSAA District Meet. This is to be held on the 21st of October by 9:00 a.m.
